Kitchen Number 32 - Greenlake Overlay
This kitchen is a great example of how to work with a whole lot of what you already have, build a space that makes you feel good to be in it and still have plenty of money left over for airplane tickets and other things that really matter.
The cabinets are “Overlay Style” construction, the easiest type for us to build. We re-used the existing Sears Kenmore appliances and went with formica countertops because they worked so well the last time. The only thing we splurged on was a new sink.
This kitchen is really small and hard to photograph but it’s easy to work in. Even though it is not very big it still has lots of space to display china and pottery collections.
The house was built in 1909, the same year as the Seattle Yukon Exposition. The kitchen feels like it has always been there.
